I want a second helping of that turkey and dressing.
How about a second piece of pumpkin pie?
More for me!
And then just maybe, I’ve had enough.
We realize the wisdom of the sage who says in Proverbs 25:16 “If you find honey, eat just enough…”
Sadly we may have experienced when we have eaten too much, and we have vomited, in the second part of that same verse.
When we realize we have eaten enough, bought enough, we approach sufficiency.
Then cyber Monday is just another day to live freely rather than another day to buy more and be enslaved in the never ending cycle of MORE MOORREE MOOORRREEE!
Sufficiency as a way of being offers us enormous personal freedom and possibility.
Rather than scarcity’s myths which tell us that the only way to perceive the world is there’s not enough, more is better, and that’s just the way it is, sufficiency sprouts, then flowers.
The truth of sufficiency asserts that there is enough for me and then for everyone.
Knowing there is enough inspires sharing, collaboration, and contribution. . . .
